In-home pet care is a type of pet care service in which a pet sitter comes to your home to care for your pets. This is in contrast to boarding your pets at a facility, where they will be in a new environment with other animals. There are many benefits to in-home pet care, including:
* Your pets will be able to stay in their own home, where they are most comfortable.
* They will be able to maintain their regular routine, including their feeding schedule, exercise routine, and medication schedule.
* They will not be exposed to new diseases or illnesses that they might encounter at a boarding facility.
* They will receive more personalized attention from the pet sitter.
The specific services included in a dog walk or let-out will vary depending on individual pet and family needs. We can customize your plan to meet your needs. However some common services are:
* Walking the dog: This is the most common service included in a dog walk. The pet sitter will take your dog for a walk around the block or to a nearby park. The length of the walk will vary depending on the needs of your dog.
* Letting the dog out: If you have a fenced yard, the pet sitter may simply let your dog out to use the bathroom. This is a shorter service than a walk, and it may not include any playtime or interaction with the pet sitter.
* Playing with the dog: Some pet sitters will also play with your dog while they are at your home. This can include playing fetch, tug-of-war, or other games.
* Feeding the dog: The pet sitter will feed your dog according to their feeding schedule. They will also make sure that your dog has access to fresh water.
* Medication administration: If your dog is on medication, the pet sitter will administer it according to your instructions.
The number of times I will visit your home will depend on the needs of your pets and your preferences. For example, if you have a dog that needs to be walked twice a day, I will visit your home twice a day. If you have a cat that only needs to be fed once a day, I will visit your home once a day.
I am happy to discuss your specific needs with you and recommend a schedule that is best suited for your situation. I can also combine any services that you need, such as dog walking, cat sitting, and housesitting.
Some factors to consider when determining how many times a day you need a pet sitter are the type of pets you have, the age of the pets, the health of the pets, and your schedule. Cat visits are required to be at least one visit per day, every day, no exceptions.
Yes, I can give your pet medication. I am trained to administer pills, liquids, injections, and topical medication to most pets. I will partner with you to get specific instructions on how to administer your pet’s medications.
If your pet becomes sick or injured while you are away, Pawsh Spot will take them to the vet or emergency clinic on file. You must have a signed medical release, vet information, financial allowance, and a valid credit card on file. You will be responsible for all charges.
If you are hiring a pet sitter, you should discuss with them whether they will be bringing any other individuals into your home while they are pet sitting. If others are entering the house without prior discussion with your Pawsh Spot, we reserve the right to stop service at any point in time. Pawsh Spot and the sitter cannot be liable for the security of your home or your pets if others are entering the home and/or caring for the pets. If you have pool, gardening, house-cleaning, etc. services scheduled during the time or service, please inform Pawsh Spot.
It is important to have a conversation with the pet sitter about this before you hire them. This way, you can make sure that you are comfortable with the arrangements and that your home and pets are safe.
